La Croix Rouge - Locarn, Brittany

The cottage is ideally situated for visiting a variety of attractions which are all within about an hours drive.

The Gorges du Corong, 5 minutes drive way, has well marked walks, allowing you to enjoy its varied landscape of steep valleys, rushing streams and moorland. 

Beautiful canal-side walks can be enjoyed beside the Nantes-Brest Canal, which is 15 minute drive away.

The famous Water Gardens in Mael Carhaix are a must, with beautiful lakeside walks and a play area for the kids.

The historic town of Quimper has a wide range of attractions, from half timbered houses lining cobbled streets, to a fine cathedral and of course the famous pottery.  

The lakeside town of Huelgoat offers lovely forest and river walks with a number of sites including the Devils Grotto, a cavern with waterfalls. Huelgoat is half an hour's drive away.  

Another place worth a visit is the town of Locronan, said to be the prettiest town in Brittany.

The coast is about an hours drive away, both the Channel Coast of Northern Brittany and the Atlantic Coast of Western Brittany. Two places worth a visit are Carentec in the north, not far from Morlaix and Roscoff, and Douarnenez in the west.
